The indefatigable carriage

As interest in the Malta Railway developed during the 1970s, efforts were made to record as much of the infrastructure and survivals as possible. In December 1980 Railway World magazine published a photo of the last remaining carriage still in use as a garden shelter in the garden of Villa Overhills, opposite Ghar Dalam, Birzebbuga . Fortunately, shortly afterwards, it was salvaged, lifted, and restored as the centrepiece of the Station Gardens in Birkirkara.
