All that remains

Here you can trace many of the remains of the Malta Railway still scattered across the island. We retrace the route of the line today, station-by-station, starting in Valletta and taking in as many monuments as have survived the rigours of time. Here too, you’ll find feature articles on Hamrun railway works and surviving artefacts.
 
Much of the route between the capital and Mdina can still be walked today. With a few diversions to avoid private property and shotgun-wielding farmers, it will take you between three and four hours. The return leg can rely on the busses that replaced the historic railway in 1931.

So, pull on your hiking boots and lets celebrate some railway survivals…
