I’ve spotted sets of carriage wheels lying around at some of the stations on the Malta Railway, here at Notible, Attard, and Hamrun (above) respectively. Has anyone spotted any others in old photos? Were they spares in case of emergency or left there after on-the-spot repairs? Hamrun might be expected to have a stock of these for the fleet of rollingstock, but it seems odd at the other stations.
