All that remains

Here you can track the remains of the Malta Railway across the island today. We retrace the route of the line again, reprising our journey starting in Valletta and taking in the monuments that have survived the rigours of time.
 
Much of the route between the capital and Mdina can still be traced and walked today. With a few diversions to avoid private property and shotgun-wielding farmers, it will take you between three and four hours. The return leg can rely on the busses that replaced the historic railway in 1931.

So, pull on your hiking boots and lets celebrate some railway survivals…
